Since you're consuming 3-7 pounds of fresh produce in every juice, your body is being flooded with essential nutrients. People who are ill, pregnant, under 18, underweight, diabetic, have unstable heart disease or low blood pressure, or who have life-threatening health challenges should not perform a juice cleanse. What do I need for a juice cleanse?

If you are making your own juices, you will need a a pulp-extracting, masticating (slow-speed) or centrifugal juicer. For an economical juicer, Breville is a good brand. If you're looking for a higher end juice, Omega would be your best bet.

 

Can I substitute ingredients in your juice recipes?

If you have food allergies or intolerances to a specific ingredient, leave it out and up the amount of another ingredient. You could also try swapping it out for another fruit or vegetable of your choosing. If removing a vegetable, make sure to replace it with a vegetable. While you may be tempted to leave out a vegetable for a sweeter fruit taste, it's important to be getting nutrients from both.
